Heather has penned a book that grabbed my attention straight away and kept it page after page. She writes in an engaging style that is easy to read and one that sparks your imagination.
Naked in Budepest is hardly a normal title for a travel guide - but this is not a normal travel guide. Rather it is a book of experiences, recounted with humour and insight. Other reviewers have spoken of Heather's bravery, which stands for itself in terms of putting herself in what most of us mainstream travelers would regard as unsafe situations. I think Heather is most brave, however, in her approach to life. She proves in her book that what you find most often when traveling is what you take with you; take a smile, find a smile; take an open mind and find acceptance; and take trust and find trustworthiness.
I can thoroughly recommend Naked in Budepest as a highly entertaining read - you will have to judge for yourself if Heather's approach to travel is for you!
This book has many interesting stories in it. I guess I would have liked the author to reflect a bit on why she was so driven to travel, what she got out of it, why she wanted to be so far away from her family for so long.
There's never a dull moment in this account by someone who knows how to travel, knows how to live. Generous, perceptive and engagingly honest, Heather takes on the world, as her curiosity, energy and sense of adventure take her to one exotic destination after another. Reading `Naked in Budapest' has whetted my appetite for seeing these places for myself - but would they seem so fascinating without Heather as guide? For those whose tamer traveling habits, like mine, can't compare with Heather's fearless encounters, travelling with Heather through the pages of `Naked in Budapest' is the way to taste the experience full-strength.
My paperback copy is attractively produced for comfortable reading, and the photo on the cover is a small masterpiece. Friends often lift `Naked in Budapest' off my bookshelf and make off with it. They always report warm enjoyment of the lively, attractively-written travel story, and awe at the courage and get-up-and-go of the woman they met within its pages.
When I get a , this will be one of my first downloads, to inspire me - when I'm travelling - to say yes to it all.
I loved this book as I love interesting travel books and Heather took you on the journey along side her. Great admiration for a nomad female traveller and what wonderful experiences and memories

Naked in Budapest
A travel novel that inspires by the authors acceptance of people and travel challenges, encourages in sharing the required attitude needed for those challenges and tickles the travel lust in all of us with her "naked" stories. The author took me with her on every boat ride, train trip and cultural experience. I anticipated each new journey with the same excitement as having been there and the end kept me longing for more....
Whether your an arm chair traveler or the real thing Naked in Budapest will take you there!
